When I read the paragraph 17 to 18 many new words stop me to understand the meaning of the article.

One is “confess"(+which) I never see this word and the Longman dictionary helped me. It has 3 meaning in the dictionary first is “to admit, especially to the police, that you have done something wrong or illegal” second is “to admit something that you feel embarrassed about” and the last is “to tell a priest or God about the wrong things you have done so that you can be forgiven” I think the second meaning is the best for me to understand.

Another one is “proclaim” I know the “claim” meaning, I think it may(may be) same to the “claim”. So I ask(look up in)the dictionary, as a result my guess is true.

At last I think the author is (a) great human being(woman),but(because) many people can not control themselves. They can’t help showing off.
