　　Growth is a process that everyone must go through.It is not just related to a series of physical changes but also related to psychological maturity.In the movie Seachd: the Inaccessible Pinnacle,Angus underwent a series of psychological changes,from naive to mature.Learning to bravely face truth and learning to understand others are two vital lessons of growth.

　　Many times truth is cruel,but mature people should discover the cruel truth by themselves.The film takes place in two time frames.One is Angus as a little boy under his grandfather's protection;the other is Angus as a young man after meeting his dying grandfather in hospital.We could see his changes by contrasting his behaviors and psychological activities from these two time frames.When Angus was a little boy,he kept asking the truth behind the death of his parents and suspecting his parents were murdered.However,when he became an adult,he tried to find the truth and prove his suspicion by himself.He went to the Inaccessible Pinnacle on the Isle of Skye,the most treacherous mountain in Scotland,and find truth he never expected to find.Finally,he bravely faced the fear hidden in his deep heart and put down all the suspicions.At that moment,he accomplished his internal recognition or realization.

　　Additionally,understanding others is a symbol of maturity.When Angus was very young,his parents died of an accident,so he was raised by his grandfather.His grandfather tried to comfort him by telling ancient Gaelic stories and convey cultural and historical Gaelic knowledge to the next generations.Infuriated by his grandfather's education,Angus refused to speak Gaelic and even tried to memorize his grandfather's every words in order to prove his parents were murdered.Because of the death of his parents and the estrangement with his grandfather,Angus generated the feeling of betrayal and bitterness.He vented his negative feelings on his grandfather and kept distance from him with growing up.He has not contacted with his grandfather since he left him.When he heard the serious illness of grandfather and came to visit him,he started to realize and understand his grandfather's goodwill.When he looked back and pondered the true meaning of those stories his grandfather told,he eventually found how much his grandfather loves him,and how much he loves his grandfather actually.At that time,he completely understood his grandfather and the relationship between them.

　　The"inaccessible pinnacle"stands for a metaphor for Angus's challenge to find the truth behind the death of his parents and rebuild relationship with his dying grandfather who raised him and instilled in him a pride for Gaelic culture.The ending of this film leaves us more space of imagination,but I believe Angus put down his past and move on when he found the blank in his grandfather's dairy.
